Calcimo Lime quarry have opportunities to join our team as a Casual Quarry Operator at our Willung based Lime stone Quarry. This role will be reporting to the Quarry Manager, and we are seeking applicants who are experienced in this field and have a passion for safety and values a strong work ethic. This is casual leading to full-time for the right candidate.

About Calcimo Lime Quarry

Calcimo Lime first began operation in Gippsland in 1960 when Jack O’Connor produced one of Australia’s first mobile lime crushing plants, supplying precious lime to local farmers. In 1982 Graeme, Jack’s son, took over and continued to grow the business by expanding the bulk cartage and innovative lime and fertiliser spreading while creating a state of the art facility in Sale in the year 2000. Graeme’s son Michael currently manages Calcimo’s Lime quarry being the third generation in the business. Today, the company is still owned and operated by the O’Connor family and has gone from strength to strength with the enormous increase in awareness of the value of lime.

Remuneration

  • You will be rewarded with a competitive and attractive hourly rate ($31.80 - $40.00ph inclusive of 25% casual loading.

  • After 8 hours, the first 2hrs of overtime is time and a half, then all double time from then.

About the Role

  • Operating Mobile Equipment including Dump Trucks, Front End Loaders, and Excavators.

  • Operating the crushing and screening plant

  • General fixed plant maintenance and inspections

  • During busy periods we expect all employees to pitch in and perform any/all quarry tasks where needed

  • Commitment to Zero Harm and Safety Leadership

  • Adhere to fixed and mobile plant pre-start, shutdown operation & maintenance procedures.

Background and Experience required

  • Quarry/Mining/Civil experience.

  • Experience operating a Front-End Loader, Dump Truck and/or Excavator.

  • Ability to work in a small team and unsupervised.

  • Professional work ethic with a "can do" attitude example.
